Pick up from your hotel at 7:30 am where you will start your safari to Masai Mara. The journey from Nairobi to Masai Mara is a popular and breathtaking adventure in Kenya, offering travelers the opportunity to experience the country's diverse landscapes and wildlife. The Masai Mara National Reserve is located approximately 180 to 280 kilometers (112 to 174 miles) southwest of Nairobi, depending on the specific route you take. The journey typically takes around 5 to 6 hours by road. Then proceed to Narok, a small Masai town well known for having the most beautiful souvenirs. Proceed to Masai Mara for lunch at the permanent tented camp/ Lodge, followed by an afternoon game viewing to see the many animals that inhabit this unique park. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight at your booked lodge/ camp.
A full day in Masai Mara promises an exciting and immersive safari experience with diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and memorable activities. Your day begins with an early wake-up call, usually before sunrise. This is to maximize your chances of spotting wildlife when they are most active. After breakfast, you experienced Grayton Expedition driver guide will be waiting for you in your customized safari vehicle for a full day of adventure. This is an excellent time to witness predators on the hunt, as well as to see various herbivores like zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes. As the sun rises over the savannah, you'll have opportunities to spot the Big Five, which include lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinoceros. You may also see cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide range of bird species. If you visit during the Great Migration (usually from July to October), you might witness the dramatic river crossings of wildebeests and zebras at the Mara River. This is a spectacle you won't forget. Back at your accommodation, you'll have dinner, which is often a buffet or a set menu featuring both local and international cuisine. After a full day of adventure, you'll retire to your comfortable room or tent for a well-deserved night's rest, listening to the sounds of the African wilderness.
After a hearty breakfast, complete our check-out procedures, and bid farewell to the Masai Mara as we make our way towards Lake Nakuru. Along the way, we pause for a delightful lunch break. Upon our early evening arrival at the Lodge or Hotel, we complete the check-in process, affording us the opportunity to relish a tranquil evening at our leisure, indulging in a delectable dinner, and enjoying a restful overnight stay.
Begin your day with a satisfying breakfast, followed by the check-out process, and then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Here, you'll partake in an exhilarating 4-hour game drive, where the true thrill of the wild unfolds. Lake Nakuru is renowned as a birdwatcher's paradise, boasting a remarkable diversity of bird species. Additionally, pay a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary, where you can marvel at both black and white rhinoceros in their natural habitat. While on the game drive, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife sightings, including imposing buffalos, elusive leopards, regal lions, and the playful baboons, all against the stunning backdrop of the Baboon Cliff. Your adventure continues with sightings of graceful antelopes, agile impalas, elegant zebras, and towering giraffes, among other fascinating creatures.
Around 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, we bid farewell to Lake Nakuru National Park and commence our journey towards Amboseli National Park, making a well-deserved stopover for lunch. As the day progresses, we arrive at our Lodge or Camp just before the sun sets, allowing us ample time for the check-in procedure. The evening promises a sumptuous dinner, and you can look forward to a peaceful overnight stay, immersed in the serene ambiance of Amboseli.
Have early breakfast and thereafter proceeded to the park for another game drive. Large concentrations of wildlife occur here in the dry season, making Amboseli a popular tourist destination. It is surrounded by six communally owned group ranches, The National Park embodies five main wildlife habitats (open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps, and marshland) and covers part of a Pleistocene lake basin, now dry. Amboseli is famous for its big game and its great scenic beauty – and the landscape is dominated by the towering Mount Kilimanjaro. The plains offer numerous jackals, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, antelopes, and the chance of spotting leopard or cheetah. Observation hill, a conical peak that is easy to climb offers great views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch, you can take another game drive or a guided nature walk. You may also have an optional visit to an authentic Masai village. Dinner and rest at Lodge/ Camp. Meal Plan (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
